The COST Domain on Forests, their Products and Services (FPS) has the mission to promote research along the whole forest-wood-chain by providing a platform for effectively coordinating nationally-funded research activities in the areas of forestry, wood technology, and pulp and paper.
Eurostars will stimulate SMEs to lead international collaborative research and innovation projects by easing access to support and funding. Providing funding and support for market-oriented research and development specifically with the active participation of R&D-performing SMEs.
Market-oriented international R&D projects - any kind of technology can receive support on the basis of the quality of a business plan. Projects are generally led by SMEs and involve a partnership of at least two EUREKA member countries.

Offers co-funding to UK-based pre-start-ups, start-ups, micro businesses and SMEs, to carry out science, engineering and technology R&D projects, which could lead to successful new products, processes and services. Smart helps companies assess potential markets, prove concepts and develop prototypes.
The EIT spurs innovation and entrepreneurship across the European Union. To further enhance its impact and to incentivise the innovations needed to meet new societal challenges, the EIT will gradually expand its portfolio of Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) from 2014 to 2020.
As established in the EIT’s Strategic Innovation Agenda (SIA) and Horizon 2020, one of the first two new KICs, to be established in 2014, will address the thematic field of "Raw materials: sustainable exploration, extraction, processing, recycling and substitution".
Horizon 2020 first calls for proposals were published on 11 December 2013.
