Rene Tõnnisson is a member of the executive board of the Baltic Innovation Agency and Buildit Accelerator. His main areas of expertise are innovation management and startup development, and with over 20 years experience has worked with many companies and public sector organisations to help them innovate and increase their competitiveness. His experience also includes over 15 years in various founder and executive positisions of Tartu Science Park, Tartu Biotechnology Park, Buildit Accelerator, Buildit Invest, Buildit Latvia, Smart City Lab, Institute of Baltic Studies and Connect Estonia.
Rene’s current activities include being an active business angel and member of the Estonian Business Angel Network EstBAN, as well as furthering his studies at the University of Cambridge and the European University Institute. He holds a Master degree in Public Administration and Policy from University of Tartu, Estonia and Certificat d’Etudes Politiques from Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Strasbourg (Sciences Po), Université de Robert Schuman.
