Prof dr Wim Vanhaverbeke is a professor at the University of Hasselt and a visiting professor at ESADE Business School and the National university of Singapore. He is a published author in several respected international journals (including the Journal of Business Venturing, Technovation), has co-edited two books on open innovation, and has also recently published an open innovation guide specifically for SMEs. In addition to his writing, he is a dedicated open innovation researcher collaborating with different partners in universities and companies around the globe. His current research focuses on open innovation in SMEs, innovation ecosystems and on the implementation of open innovation practices. He also co-established the European Innovation Forum in 2012 and was co-organiser of the World Open innovation Conference 2016, making him an in-demand speaker at leading international conferences and a highly sought adviser for several globally operating companies. His extensive work earned him recognition from the International Association of Management of Technology (IAMOT) as one of the top 50 authors of technology and innovation management during the period 2008-2012.
