The European Commission is organising the European Industry Days on February 22-23 2018, to ensure that policies at European, national, regional and local levels work together to enable European industry to deliver jobs, growth and innovation in Europe and to highlight new emerging industrial, societal and environmental trends that may need a policy response.
In line with the European Industry Days, the Commission has launched a call for events under the brand of the European Industry Week. This series of events will serve as a platform for all interested local, regional and national actors to experience European industrial policy first-hand.
As a part of the European Industry Week the WATIFY campaign and its Europe wide network of stakeholders will organise the European Technology Transformation Week from 19-23 of February 2018. The week will aim to stimulate the digitisation and uptake of advanced technologies by European SMEs that form the backbone of the European industry.
We invite YOU to share your event with us and participate in the European Technology Transformation Week!
- We will promote your event on the WATIFY website as well as through a number of relevant stakeholders across Europe. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your visibility on a European level and attract the attention of potential partners and investors.
- WATIFY can provide you with a European level expert to speak at your event in your national language in order to boost the attractiveness of your event.
Who can apply?
Hosts of events and conferences that address technological transformation can apply. Please find a non-exhaustive list of relevant topics below:
Digitisation, Industry 4.0, Digital transformation, nanotechnology, advanced manufacturing technologies, photonics, industrial biotechnology, micro and nanoelectronics, advanced materials, cybersecurity, automation and robotics, IoT, HPC, big data, artificial intelligence, 3D visualisation…
The events need to be relevant for the advancement of technological transformation of businesses in Europe. The selection will be done by the WATIFY consortium and will be based on:
- attractiveness and European relevance of the event topic
- quality and gender balance of speakers
- geographical and institutional balance of the event organisers
Local events will be selected to ensure that there is a dynamic mix of topics, expert and policy input, roundtable discussions and sectoral perspectives.
The European Commission has sole and absolute discretion to select the local events based on the criteria above. No individual feedback will be provided to unsuccessful candidates but they will be informed by email that their applications have not been retained.
