The European Tourism Forum is an annual event, co-organised with the country that holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union during the second half of the year. The forum’s objectives are political and they are often linked to an informal meeting of ministers from EU countries responsible for tourism.

The 16th European Tourism Forum took place in Tallinn, Estonia on 18-19 October 2017. The main topics were

European Tourism Forum 2016
On 15 October 2016, the 15th European Tourism Forum was held in Bratislava, Slovak Republic. The subjects on the agenda were taxation, collaborative economy and digital transformation.
European Tourism Forum 2015
The 14th European Tourism Forum took place in Luxembourg from 17 to 18 September. The topics for discussion were tourism digitalisation, the promotion of Europe via transnational and pan-European thematic products, skills and training, and streamlining the regulatory and administrative framework for tourism.
European Tourism Forum 2014: Innovative actions for jobs and economic growth
In 2014, the European Tourism Forum discussed digitalisation and innovation, sustainable mobility and access to destinations, training and education, and actions to promote Europe. The Forum took place under the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The 12th European Tourism Forum was co-organised by the European Commission and the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union to discuss the impact of tourism on the EU economy and development trends in international tourism.
European Tourism Forum 2012: Promotion of Europe as a tourist destination - Facilitation of tourism flows to Europe
The 2012 edition of the forum was dedicated to the ‘Promotion of Europe as a tourist destination’ and the ‘Facilitation of tourism flows to Europe’ and took place during the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
