As part of the cooperation, the 2018-2020 work programme of the Union for the Mediterranean industrial cooperation and small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) development was approved on 20 September 2018 by the 'senior official meeting' in Vienna, Austria.

Experts technical meetings on industrial cooperation

The UfM experts technical meeting on industrial cooperation coordinates the cooperation and monitors the implementation of the work programme.

It is composed of representatives from the European Commission and the European External Action Service, public authorities and business associations from EU and South Mediterranean neighbour countries, and certain international organisations.

Latest meetings

The third UfM expert technical meeting took place on 3 December 2018 in Barcelona, Spain. The meeting was the first after the adoption of the 2018-2020 Work Programme. It focused on cluster policy and the follow-up of the findings of the interim Small Business Act (SBA) assessment made by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the European Training Foundation.

The second UfM expert technical meeting took place in Brussels on 13 March 2018. The main focus was on the latest developments in EU networks and partnerships policies, the social economy, the renewed EU industrial policy and the Agreements on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAAs).

The first UfM expert technical meeting (previously called the Working Party on Euro-Mediterranean industrial cooperation) took place in October 2017 Barcelona, Spain. The discussion focused on the new structure of cooperation under the UfM umbrella and the 2018-2020 draft work programme
