Side event on social economy for the Social Summit for Fair Jobs and Growth - What role for social economy in the future of work?

The European Commission, the European Economic and Social Committee, the City of Gothenburg and Region Västra Götaland are pleased to announce that a side event to the Social Summit will take place in Gothenburg on 16 November 2017 to discuss the role of social economy in the future of work.
Event date: 16/11/2017
Location: Handeshögskolan, Malmstenssalen (Vasagatan 1) - Gothenburg - Sweden

This event aims to bring together a variety of stakeholders:

  • social entrepreneurs
  • representatives, and supporters of the social economy
  • European, national and local policy makers
  • academics

They will be invited to present the important contribution of social economy to economic growth and social cohesion in the EU, as well as its potential for achieving significant objectives of the European Pillar of Social Rights, such as fair working conditions. Real life examples will serve to illustrate this.

In the morning of 17 November, participants can take part in a bus tour and discover the thriving social enterprises in Gothenburg.
