Industrial strategy: Commission launches call for experts for the new open and inclusive 'Industrial Forum'
Published on: 03/12/2020
Today, the European Commission opened a call for applications for membership of a new 'Industrial Forum' that will contribute to our work on industrial ecosystems in the context of the recovery, and their green and digital transformation. This expert group will also assist the Commission in following the implementation of the industrial strategy announced in March 2020.

As announced in the new industrial strategy for Europe, the Industrial Forum is a new, inclusive and open mechanism for co-designing solutions with stakeholders. The Industrial Forum will support the Commission in the assessment of the risks and needs of different ecosystems as industry embarks on the twin transitions to a green and digital Europe. The forum will bring together the views of industrial stakeholders, public authorities, civil society organisations and investors.

The call is open to industrial associations, civil society organisations, trade unions, research and technology organisations, cluster organisations, and organisations operating in the financial/investment sector.

The forum will also include members from EU member states, the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The Committee of the Regions and the Economic and Social Committee will be invited as observers.

The Industrial Forum will meet at least twice a year - once on the occasion of EU Industry Days, to take advantage of the opportunity to interact with a broader range of stakeholders.

The forum is expected to hold its first meeting in January 2021.
