Within the series of Internet Segura for Kids - IS4K’s lesson guidance, the specific lesson “SABES ELEGIR” includes guidance for two dynamic and interactive activities based on the promotion of personal responsibility and critical thinking when facing online content.

The activities include a presentation about the topic and an initial reflection in which the possible problems are shown. This will help them to develop the activity, a group project made by the students in which they are asked to assess the problem in groups. They will have to give their opinion followed by a final reflection sharing their group conclusions.

This resource is also used for workshops within the School Workshops Programme (Programa de Jornadas Escolares in Spanish) for the safe and responsible use of the internet. The purpose is to foster, among people under the age of 18, the personal responsibility and critical thinking as essential skills. Hence, they will be helped to contrast online information, think before accepting new contacts and how to react when facing possible problems which may arise.

Dentro del catálogo de unidades didácticas de Internet Segura for Kids -IS4K, la unidad Sabes elegir incluye 2 actividades dinámicas e interactivas sobre el fomento de la responsabilidad y el espíritu crítico ante los contenidos presentes en Internet.

Las actividades constan de una presentación del tema;  una reflexión inicial en la que se muestra la problemática, con la que se les ayudará a desarrollar la actividad de un trabajo en grupo de los alumnos para que valoren el caso presentado de forma individual, y den su opinión y, por último, una reflexión final en que se realizará una puesta en común de todos los grupos y sus conclusiones.

Este recurso se utiliza además en la impartición de jornadas, dentro del Programa de Jornadas Escolares para el uso seguro y responsable de Internet, cuyo propósito es fomentar en los menores la responsabilidad y el espíritu crítico como capacidades esenciales. Para ello se les ayudará a contrastar la información de Internet, reflexionar antes de aceptar contactos y reaccionar frente a los problemas que surjan.
