Media Literacy Days is project launched by Agency for Electronic Media and the UNICEF Office for Croatia with the aim of educating and informing children, parents, educators and teachers about the importance of media literacy. They are conceived as a platform for cooperation and developing sustainable media literacy projects, and supporting educators by developing materials for media education.

Second Media Literacy Days in Croatia will be held from 8 to 12 April 2019, in cooperation with numerous partners and under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Science and Education. Emphasized theme for this year is respect for ourselves and others in the media, which includes a variety of subtemes, such as tolerance, hate speech, fake news, disinformation and manipulation, empathy and respect for human dignity, and privacy and security in the media, social networks and communication platforms.As part of the First Media Literacy Days in April 2018, more than 130 events were held in kindergartens, schools, libraries, cinemas, associations and other institutions in more than 60 cities throughout Croatia and educational materials were produced for children and young people, parents, and teachers.For the Media literacy days 2019 new educational materials will be prepared, and lectures, workshops, film screenings and other activities for children and adults will be organized.

Until now, the Croatian Audiovisual Center, the Croatian Film Association, the Croatian Network of Independent Cinematographers, Association for Communication and Media Culture, VERN' University, CARNet and the leading electronic media and daily newspapers have joined the project as partners, and all libraries, kindergartens, schools, faculties, media literacy associations, and other social stakeholders are called to get involved in Media Literacy Days and organize a workshop or lecture about media literacy.
