This deliverable reports on the dissemination activities over the first 12 months to promote the project outcomes within the project's target groups.
This deliverable is well conceived in two important aspects: relations and differences between communication and dissemination, and relation between actions and targets.
However, information provided on action results is quite poor: in many cases, we have links to social media accounts or other websites, without an overview on achieved results. Moreover, a very short report has been provided for every action but a connection between all these data, giving an idea of current position of the project in relation to the fixed goals, is missing: on the contrary, recurring cross-references to other parts (and references to future actions) make it hard to read.
The plan for year two is more a list of activities than a comprehensive plan fully describing actions and related monthly time frame.
Also, misalignments, typos and blurry pictures are reported.
The dissemination plan is sufficiently sophisticated and logically consistent. Attention is paid to the target groups of the project and the plan contains a list of dissemination activities together with a description of the means of promotion and forms of dissemination to the public. However the clear link between proposed activities by the different promotion tools or usage of promotion tools itself and the specific target group is missing. The clear link between promotion activity and the target group can better predict the impact of the activity and to propose appropriately a potential measures for evaluation of predicted impact. The plan of activities should be logically and transparently interconnected with the needs of each identified target group in order to make it quite clear which target group the product information is intended for.
General Comment and Review:
This deliverable presents the dissemination activities in year one from the OpenGovIntelligence Project and some plans for the future activities. In general, I could say that enough work has been done for dissemination as reported in this deliverable.
Since the project goal is the active participation of the society and enterprises, I would suggest more effort could be put in organizing related workshops (to which the deliverable refers) or open days as specific events during which both the results and the tools of the project to be reached to the wide public.
Now more specifically regarding to the deliverable, it presents a dissemination strategy which is focused on specified target groups. The plan as presented is the following: each of the pilot involves two partners and focus to an identified target group selected by the consortium. But, further details are not given to the reader. It could be nice to present this plan for example in one figure. Later on Section 2 the authors present the targeted audience (Public Sector, Software Developers, Standardisation Bodies, Research and Academics, Civil Society, but also these groups could not directly map to the Fig.2
Also, I was a little bit confused about the structure of the document in another point: Why the software is located under publications? Does this mean that all the developed software would be public on the web in github etc? Perhaps a different structure is required, or some related clarifications. Furthermore, I would prefer a different (sub)section on how to disseminate the software/tools of the project.
In addition, the authors identify interest generic groups (Section 2) around relevant themes across target audiences to be examined in relevant dissemination events. I would like to suggest also specified groups close to the areas of environment protection, economic growth, and unemployment as indicated in the project summary.
Specific Comments/Suggestions on the deliverable:
-Typo on graphical indentify ->identity
-The resolution of Fig.1 is quite low and it is difficult to read in some points
-The website link is mentioned to be found in 3.2.4, but in fact this subsection indicates the Publications.
-I found the target of 250 monthly visits for Y1 and Y2 quite low
-To be honest I did not understand the difference between Table 4 and Table 5
-I would prefer the overview of dissemination activities to be listed at the beginning, so I suggest a switch between 3.3 and 3.2.
-Objectives can be grouped in the Table 7
- The e-magazine www.wired.com could be added in the Table 9
