Member States are requested to present action plans on how they intend to address any shortcomings revealed during the inspections and audits.
Verification of the completion and effectiveness of corrective actions is an integral part of the audit cycle, and the Member States are revisited regularly to monitor progress in relation to the outstanding issues
This part of the country profile gives the current status of actions undertaken in response to the recommendations made in the audit report. It is updated at regular intervals, based on assessments made following the most recent missions to the Member State and on any other relevant information received from the Member State.

The purpose of this part of the country profile is to provide an overview of how control systems for food and feed safety, animal health, animal welfare and plant health are organised in the Member State. It is based on a description supplied by the Member State and drawn into a standardised format by the DG Health and Food Safety.

This part of the country profile presents summary data on the Member State's production, consumption and trade of food, animals and plants. It gives the economic context for the control systems described in other parts of the profile. The data is taken from Eurostat's publication on "Food: From Farm to Fork Statistics" which can be found on the following web site: Food Chain Statistics.
Further information on the organisation and implementation of Member State controls in the areas of food and feed safety, animal health, animal welfare and plant health may be found in the websites of national control agencies.
Although not an EU obligation, some Member States publish their Multi-annual National Control Plans and Annual Reports on the implementation of these plans. In these cases links to these documents are included.
