Expert group on Animal Health

The aim of this group is to:

  • Advise the Commission on issues relating to animal health legislation, its implementation and policy development

  • Exchange information, experience and good practice on animal health covered by EU legislation

Its tasks are:

  • Assist the Commission in defining policy and preparing legislation or delegated acts

  • Give expertise on implementing EU legislation, programmes and policies, on coordination with EU countries and stakeholders

Specific, reduced setting of meetings for this group takes place within the framework of the Animal Health Advisory Committee. This means the participation of only the 3 representatives of Chief Veterinary Officers of three Member States of past, present and future Presidency, joining EU animal health stakeholders participating in the Committee meetings.
