The first WestMED Hackathons will take place on Tuesday 14 May 2019 in Palermo, Italy.
The event, organised by the European Commission and the Co-Presidency of the Initiative for the sustainable development of the blue economy in the western Mediterranean, will showcase and develop concrete projects among businesses, investors, researchers, national and local authorities belonging to the western Mediterranean countries.
The event aims to convey civil society’s projects and proposals to the “Sommet des Deux Rives” (Summit of the Two Shores amongst Heads of State and Government), hosted by the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, which will be held in Marseille on 24 June 2019.
Given the specific objectives and the format of the event, participation to the “hackathon” sessions will be limited to selected practitioners and investors.
