The national strategic plans give an overview of how the national authorities intend to use the European fisheries fund to develop their own fisheries and aquaculture sector and make it more sustainable.
The plans are developed by EU countries in dialogue with the Commission, and are then adopted by the respective country. The national plans provide the basis for the negotiation and adoption of the operational programmes that are to follow.
