European Film Weeks 1 - 10 April 2019
Every voice has the right to be heard
This year, our European Film Weeks are highlighting the many facets of European democracy. Indeed, democracy is a topical theme with the spring of 2019 bringing as both the European elections and the Finnish national parliamentary elections. Our films this year discuss democracy from many essential angles, such as active citizenship, faith in a common future and the importance of inclusiveness.
The films on display tell vivid stories of politics, aspirations, equality and the numerous forms of love. These 19 inspiring works draw a fascinating picture of the diversity of us all, the peoples of Europe.
The event is organized by the European Commission Representation in Finland and the European Parliament Liaison Office in Finland, together with the embassies and cultural institutes of the EU countries and the EU candidate countries.
The event is free of charge. Eurooppasali (Malminkatu 16, Helsinki) has room for 100 spectators. Tickets are distributed in the Eurooppasali entrance hall one hour before each performance begins. All films have subtitles in English. Welcome!
