Generate a new query - Json and Unicode Web Services

How to use the query builder to generate a new query

First step

Enter the code of the dataset to query. Datasets maintained by Eurostat are all identified by a unique code which is necessary for obtaining statistical data. You can retrieve codes of all available datasets from the database by themes or tables by themes, or from the table of content.

In this example, we use dataset nama_10_gdp

Second step

Set the appropriate filters for the dimensions of the dataset. As the dimensions can be specific to a dataset, the example below only illustrates the principles of how to filter data. The proposed filters may be different for the dataset of your choice.

The dataset has dimensions or attributes description, listed on the left.
On the right, dimension values/positions or possible values of attributes can be selected.

In this example:

Time selection
(a) Default : no filter, i.e. select the whole time series
(b) Fixed : select specific time positions one by one
(c) Since : from a specific point (year, month…)
(d) For last : number of positions to request starting from the most recent
Geo selection
(e) Default : no filter, i.e. select all geo codes
(f) Fixed : select specific geo codes one by one
Unit and Na_item
(g) List Box : select one or several values
Unit code or label appends to the indicator title?
(h) Include either the unit code or the unit label in the response.
This option only impacts UNICODE requests.
Grouped indicators
(i) Set if the indicators are grouped or not.
This option only impacts UNICODE requests.
Exclude dataset title from the indicator label?
(j) Include the dataset name in the response or not.
This option only impacts UNICODE requests.
Exclude EU aggregates?
(k) Exclude EU aggregates like EU28 or EA17 from the response.
Others parameters
(l) Set the number of decimals

Third step

Finally, click “Generate Dataset Code” to get the dynamic filters for the REST URL to use.

In this case

This dynamic filter must be concatenated with the fixed part of the URL
