Ms. Birgitte Anker has been appointed new Director General of Statistics Denmark as per October 1st 2020.
Ms Anker has a Master of Science (MSc) in Economics, and previously, Ms Anker was the director of the National Board of Social Services (2015-2020).
Throughout her career in public service, which has comprised jobs at the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Business and Economic Affairs, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Interior, Birgitte has been an avid user of official statistics and data. The Statistical Yearbook 2017 contains an almost endless number of figures and presents a detailed insight into the Danish welfare society throughout the recent decades. The book offers various perspectives on the life of the Danes.
In the Yearbook you can read about both the softer sides of the society such as which movie was the most seen or which name the Danish parents prefer for their children. You can also find economic statistics such as aggregated business and governmental accounts, GDP, exports and imports etc.
Nordic Statistical Yearbook 2014 is a reference book containing comprehensive and easily accessible statistics of various aspects of social life in the five Nordic countries, i.e. Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
