Demography report – 2015 edition

This analytical web-note,  jointly produced by Eurostat and the Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission, presents an extensive update of the main demographic trends for the EU.  It also contains a labour-market supplement which outlines the potential consequences of the forthcoming demographic change (declining working-age population) on the EU's growth perspective.

The report shows that the current demographic situation in the EU-28 is characterised by a general population growth (+1.7 million during 2013), despite a population decrease in 13 EU-28 Member States.
