Agri-environmental indicators (AEIs) - Agriculture

Agri-environmental indicators

Agri-environmental indicators (AEIs) track the integration of environmental concerns into the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) at EU, national and regional levels.

A set of 28 indicators was developed by the Commission in close collaboration with Member States following the last Commission Communication on Agri-environmental indicators of 2006.

Development and maintenance of the indicators is a collaborative effort between:

  • the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI),
  • the Directorate-General for Environment (DG ENV),
  • Eurostat,
  • the Joint Research Centre (JRC),
  • the European Environment Agency (EEA), and
  • the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE).

Eurostat disseminates the available indicator fact sheets. Where indicated (), Eurostat also publishes the underlying data. In other cases, the responsible data provider is indicated.
