Glossary:United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, abbreviated as UNESCO, is a specialised United Nations agency. Its mission is to promote international co-operation among its Member States and Associate Members in the fields of education, science, culture and communication. UNESCO was founded on 16 November 1945, and has 193 Member States and 11 Associate Members (as of February 2019).
