Harmonised indices of consumer prices
Definition
Product specified by its characteristics, the timing and place of purchase and the terms of supply, and for which a price is observed (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1148).

Specified good or service that is offered for purchase at a stated price, in a specific outlet or by a specific provider, under specific terms of supply, and thus defines a unique entity at any one time (Commission regulation (EC) No 1334/2007).
