Guidelines and table programme for the Community programme of population and housing censuses in 2001 Vol. 1: Guidelines - Products Manuals and Guidelines

The guidelines for the community programme of population and housing censuses in 2001 will permit the collection of periodical and reliable statistical data, at different geographical levels, on the population, on households and on the main social, economic and family characteristics of persons and the main characteristics of their housing environment. These guidelines and tabulation programme are published and disseminated in two volumes. Volume I includes the "gentlemen's agreement" and some conceptual clarifications to ECE/Eurostat Census Recommendations. Volume II covers the table programme with extensive explanatory notes for each table. Volume I has a wider distribution and it is used as information material on the 2001 Community Census Programme. Volume II is a working tool for the census staff of the National Statistical Institutes while planning and carrying out their national tabulation programmes.
