The overall objective of the GEOSTAT 2 project is to foster a better integration of statistics and geospatial information in order for the statistical community to provide more qualified descriptions and analyses of society and environment.
The specific objectives are:
[no-lexicon]The aim of this Eurostat Vision Implementation Project (VIP) is to rationalise the current system of stand-alone social surveys by assessing scenarios for an integrated approach to household/individual micro-data collection.
The GEOSTAT action is about developing guidelines for datasets and methods to link census 2010/2011 statistics to a common harmonised grid, building on the network and work made by partners in the European Forum for GeoStatistics.
The GEOSTAT 1B project lasted from 01.01.2012 until 31.12.2013.
The overall objective of this ESSnet is to provide assistance in the development of more integrated databases and data production systems for business statistics in Member States. Therefore the ESSnet has to work on issues that are common for the majority of the ESS NSIs when applying a data warehousing approach for statistics.
Its general objectives are:
Main Objectives: The field of integration is in continuous development. Challenging problems need to be tackled from the methodological point of view to assess the accuracy of integration methods and to ensure the usability of the integrated data set.
Objectives: Develop a set of methods, tools and guidelines to create harmonised data sets, such as on handling confidentiality issues of population statistics and disaggregation processes.
[no-lexicon]In the context of the MEETS programme (action 3.1) the Framework Partnership Agreement Nr 30121 2010 002-2010 205 has been signed to establish the"ESSnet on micro data linking and data warehousing in statistical production".
The project "ESSnet Statistical Methodology -- Area ISAD" (Integration of Survey and Administrative Data), consisting of the NSIs of Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain, aims at promoting knowledge and application in practice of sound methodologies for the joint use of existing data sources in the production of official statistics.
The overall objective off this ESSnet is to provide assistance in the development of more integrated databases and data production systems for business statistics in Member States. The ESSnet has to work on issues that are common for the majority of the ESS NSIs when applying a data warehousing approach for statistics. Its general objectives are:
Main objectives: A. To define the feasibility and the scope of ‘profiling’ large and complex MNEs;
B. The development of a common conceptual framework, methodology , rules and standards for ‘profiling’;
C. The development of process descriptions, tools, operational guidelines and quality assurance of profiling
This report describes estimation methods, which may be applied in the context of the "Integration of European Social Surveys" project. These are the most suitable methods for the envisaged survey organisation, identified after extensive literature review and consultation of experts in this field.
