Workshop on Public-Private Partnerships for Mobile Phone Data for Use in Official Statistics
The ESSnet Big Data organises a workshop in Luxembourg on 22-23 September 2016, assembling statistical offices participating in workpackage 5 on mobile phone data and invited European mobile network operators (MNOs).
This workshop is designed to exchange experiences and provide examples of fruitful collaboration regarding the access and usage of mobile phone data for statistical purposes. It should facilitate contact between MNOs and statistical institutes in order to identify possibilities for developing mutually beneficial partnerships. It is not intended as a forum for bilateral or multi-lateral negotiations, but rather to provide a strong platform for future collaboration. We plan to exchange views, interests, and concerns among the various participants. Current examples of cooperation will be shared.
The workshop will start at 09:00 on September 22, 2016 and will end by 14:00 on September 23, 2016. The full agenda can be viewed here.
The participation in the workshop is focused on members of the workpackage on mobile phone data and people within MNOs involved in the company policy about big data, business intelligence, business strategy, and any other business activity related to the use of their mobile phone data for statistical and commercial purposes.
The coordinators of the work package on mobile phone data of the ESSnet have dispatched a formal invitation letter to different people from European MNOs identified through their bilateral contacts between the companies and the corresponding national statistical offices of the European statistical system (ESS).
In order to register, please send an attendance confirmation to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com upon reception of the invitation letter no later than September 5, 2016.
There is no registration fee for this workshop.
Persons not formally invited but nevertheless interested in attending the workshop because of their professional role in potential partnerships between MNOs and official statistics producers, are kindly invited to send an e-mail to the coordinator of the ESSnet workpackage (firstname.lastname@example.org). Depending on space limitations and other considerations, and without being able to give prior guarantees, requests to attend will be considered.
