The main object of this project is to agree a common XML file structure useful for the European countries.
During the 22 months of the first phase of the action, this group is going to carry out a research on the existing software installed in the tourist accommodation establishments in different countries. The group is going to design the structure of a common XML file and to define some validation rules to ensure the quality and coherence of the data contained in the XML file.
WP2: Research the management software packages that are installed in hotels in each country
To know the main software companies that provide this kind of packages to hotel establishment
To analyse the information recorded in those management software.
To contact to main hotel associations and hotel chains to introduce the project to them.
WP3: Analyse in detail the automated data collection systems based on XML files that are working
To study in detail the automated data collection systems based on XML files
To compare them in order to detect the similarities and differences to get a base to build a common structure.
WP4: Online discussion to define a common XML file structure and a set of validation rules

WP5: Application to receive XML files
To analyse the different methods used to receive the data collected by XML files in the NSIs databases and decide which will be used.
To develop the appropriate software needed to include the data received using this way of collecting data in the existing database.
WP6: Evaluation of NSIs' information systems
To analyse the different ways of introducing the data collected by XML files in the structure already existing in each country and decide which will be used.
WP7: Feed-back reports to establishments
To develop an automated system to generate feed-back report to the establishment that, previously had sent the XML file
A Workshop will be held to explain to the rest of EU Members the tasks developed in this ESSnet project.
