Main Objectives: to develop methodology for the analysis of the EU statistical data reference source for poverty and living conditions (EU-SILC), covering both cross-sectional and longitudinal dimensions;

  • to use EU-SILC data for providing in-depth comparative analysis of income and living conditions in the EU (with a particular focus on the extent of financial poverty, social exclusion and deprivation)

Main milestones: 

  • January 2009: First meeting of Network
  • 1 March 2009: draft conference programme
  • 30 October 2009 final conference programme
  • First four months of 2010: conference and second Network meeting; these will take place in Warsaw
  • 31 July 2010: draft of monograph and Statistics in Focus
  • 30 October 2010: final version of monograph
  • 31 December 2010: end of project

Dissemination actions towards the ESS:

  • The main results of Net-SILC will be presented at an international conference that will take place in Warsaw, on 25-26 March 2010. For more information on the conference, see: http://www.stat.gov.pl/eusilc/ They will then be summarised in a reviewed publication that will be edited by A.B. Atkinson (Nuffield Col-lege and University of Oxford, UK) and Eric Marlier (CEPS/INSTEAD Research Institute, Luxembourg). The publication is expected to be issued by the end of 2010 and will be advertised on this web page
