Mariana Kotzeva

Dr. Mariana Kotzeva is Deputy Director General of Eurostat (Statistical Office of the European Union). She has an academic background working as an Associate Professor at the department of Statistics and Econometrics of the University of National and World Economy – Sofia and visiting Professor at the department of Econometrics of the Central European University – Budapest.
In parallel, Dr. Kotzeva had participated in numerous national and international projects of World Bank, EU and UNDP. She took active part in developing strategic policy documents of   the Administration of the President of Republic of Bulgaria, Ministry of Labour and Employment (MLE) of Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy of Bulgaria in the areas of demography, labour market policy, combating poverty and Roma integration.
From January 2008 to April 2012, Mariana Kotzeva had been the President of the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria. She joined the European Commission in April 2012 as Adviser Hors Classe to the Director General of Eurostat.
