The ESS Big Data Workshop 2016 was organised on 13 and 14 October 2016 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The objective of the workshop is to present and discuss the latest developments in big data and official statistics at the European level, mainly achievements of the ESSnet Big Data and intermediate results of the Eurostat Big Data study on ethical, communication, legal and skills issues. The structure of the workshop follows the structure of the Big Data Action Plan and Roadmap and specifically the work packages of the ESSnet Big Data project. The main objective is to exchange the developments related to the use of Big Data in official statistics. The main outcome of ESS Big Data workshop 2016 will be feedback from the participants which will help orient further developments related to the ongoing activities.
The workshop will start at at 14:00 on 13 October 2016 and end around 17:00 on 14 October 2016. For details, please refer the full workshop programme.
Participation to the workshop (as well as the social dinner on 13 October and the lunch on 14 October) are free of charge, but workshop registration via the online interface is required (and places are limited).
