Short description of the Master programme

The EMOS variant is embedded into the Master programme Statistics in Economic and Social Sciences by offering EMOS students a special route through the programme focusing on official statistics.

The EMOS learning outcome are in general covered by parts of at least two courses. In the beginning, the courses have an introductory/overview character, followed by further courses that deepen the knowledge or set focus on specific aspects. In the centre of the third semester is an internship in one of the cooperating statistical authorities as well as the EMOS seminar, i.e. an advanced course where students present and discuss current research topics in official statistics. The fourth semester is entirely devoted to the master thesis in an area relevant for official statistics.
