The aim of this Eurostat Vision Implementation Project (VIP) is to rationalise the current system of stand-alone social surveys by assessing scenarios for an integrated approach to household/individual micro-data collection. In this spirit, since the 90s, Eurostat has been playing a role in the promotion, development and maintenance of a software solution (Demetra family) freely available for seasonal adjustment in line with established best practices.
The Eurostat-ECB (European Central Bank) Seasonal Adjustment Expert Group (SAEG) is the high level group of experts in charge of the coordination of the Seasonal Adjustment activities in National Statistical Institutes (NSIs) and National Central Banks (NCBs) and reporting to the European Statistical System Committee (ESSC) and the European System of Central Banks Statistics Committee (STC).
