8.1. Release calendar | |||
A release schedule for the coming year, specifying dates, reference period and level of statistical publication is published each October in the Calendar of Statistical Data Issues and each December in the CBS Publishing Program. Calendar of Statistical Data Issues contains the review of publications planned to be issued in 2022 and by the end of May 2023, which depends on when the processing of a particular statistical survey can be finished and on whether it is feasible to make a particular kind of publication or not. Once a year CBS issues the Publishing Programme (in Croatian and English), in order to inform data users on our publishing activity as thoroughly as possible. Programme is free of charge and is available on web site of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics. |

10.7. Quality management - documentation
In order to establish a comprehensive system of quality, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics applies the model of Total Quality Management, which also contains the Code of Practice of European Statistics. This model offers a possibility of continuous improvement for each business process. It focuses not only on products and services, but also to users and their satisfaction, the active participation of employees, long-term business success and social benefit. The communication is recognized as a key element of all statistical processes that affect the business success. |
11.1. Quality assurance
Data are collected and compiled in line with the Regulation (EU) 692/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council and with the Code of Practice applicable to all processes for collecting and compiling European statistics. To ensure the quality of the results, CBS develops, produces and disseminates data based on the same standards and harmonized methods. 13.1. Accuracy - overall
Capacity: Survey is based on total coverage so there is no sampling error. There is no item non-response rate. No imputation is applied. Data on accommodation establishments and their capacities in Statistical register on accommodation establishments in CBS are regularly updated and checked with data from Ministry of Tourism and Sport (which is responsible for categorisation of accommodation establishments) and with data from administrative data source. Occupancy: Survey is based on total coverage so there is no sampling error. During the visual control and editing phase all data are checked and if there are any inconsistencies, the tourist board or the respondent is contacted. |

15.1. Comparability - geographical
See 3.7 Data are in line with Regulation 692/2011. Comparability between regions is ensured according to the NUTS classification. |

15.3. Coherence - cross domain
All data is completely comparable within supply side of the tourism domain (capacity/occupancy data; NACE groups; geographically etc.). Data on tourism arrivals and overnight stays of domestic population in rented accommodation establishments can be compared with the demand side of the tourism domain. Due to the methodological differences and population frame between these two sources (demand side: sample survey, residents population aged 15 years or more included; supply side: total coverage, obligatory, also arrivals and overnight stays of residents aged less than 15 years are included) data are not fully comparable.
15.4. Coherence - internal
Coherence between annual and monthly data: Annual data on occupancy are sum of the monthly data. Fully coherent data. The maximum capacity over the year are reported. The maximum capacity considered at the level of the establishment, the peak value for the individual establishment. |

Data processing on the Survey Processor software enables automated creation of monthly and annual datasets from processed capacity and occupancy data. No imputation is applied because during the visual control and editing phase all data are checked and if there are any inconsistencies, the tourist board or the respondent is contacted. The statistical survey on tourist traffic (number of tourist arrivals and nights) and accommodation capacities is carried out by CBS using data from the administrative source, eVisitor system. The Croatian Bureau of Statistics takes over part of database from Croatian National Tourist Board and further processes it statistically. By publishing the Ordinance on the eVisitor system (NN, No. 43/20), the eVisitor system has officially become the central electronic system for checking in or checking out tourists in the Republic of Croatia. The tourist registry in the eVisitor system is kept separately for every legal entity and natural person offering accommodation services as part of the hotel and restaurant activity (boarding houses, hotels, hostels, etc.) or accommodation services in households and rural households. |
