| 13.1. Accuracy - overall | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Survey 1: This is a household survey with a partly one-stage, partly two-stage probability sample of dwellings. Apart from attrition, the 2-4th quarterly samples are the same as the first quarter's sample. In the annual sample each household can appear 1-4 times. Unit non-response is handled with the ordinary integrated calibration to known population totals.
Survey 2: This survey is conducted at border-crossing points. The sample of these points is not a probability sample. Within the selected points several days were selected with some systematic method which ensures the proper representation of different types of days and the coverage of the whole month. The interviewer has to work continuously in the randomly selected time of day, which yields also a non-probability sample of vehicles/individuals. Non-response rate is relatively high for questions on expenditures. |
