3.3. Coverage - sector | |||

3.4. Statistical concepts and definitions | |||
The information relates to the number of registrations of new legal units and bankruptcies declared in particular NACE Rev. 2 categories, with quarterly dynamics. The information about registrations and bankruptcy is entirely drawn from administrative sources. Apart from S division 94 - Activities of membership organizations, it covers NACE sections B to E, F, G, H, I, J, K-N, and P-S. The information mentioned comes from legal entities that are registered with the Serbian Business Registers Agency (SBRA, the primary administrative source in RS), as well as the SORS administrative register of classification units (in charge in nonprofit units). Each month, SBR receives data from both sources. All economic and unprofitable subjects (legal and natural persons) that register their economic activity in SBRA and SORS administrative register, which also collect the primary registration information, such as the date of registration, the date of commencement (including the date of the bankruptcy of the legal units), the activity code (NACE Rev. 2 class), etc. In specific NACE Rev. 2 sections, these data are utilized to define the number of new legal entities registrations and the number of bankruptcy declarations in quarterly dynamics. When a unit satisfies all conditions to be registered in administrative sources and the act of registration of the legal unit is announced, that date is considered as the legal unit's registration date. The activity's actual start date may be different from the registration date. The beginning of bankruptcy proceedings, whether due to the legal unit's insolvency, excessive debt, or another legal reason, is known as the date of bankruptcy of the legal unit. Only legal units that are not state-owned can be the subjects of bankruptcy proceedings, and they can have one of two outcomes: either the legal entity is shut down or it is reorganized with the purpose of maintaining its operations. Therefore, if reorganization is successful, the legal unit on which the bankruptcy procedure has been initiated may continue to operate. |
