Structural orchard statistics provide data on the area, age and density of apple and pear. The statistics are collected from surveys and administrative data sources. Data are collected on national level and for some variables also at NUTS1 level. The data collection concerns countries with more than 1000 ha of area for any single fruit tree type.

1782/2003. Out of this register, Statistics Belgium selects only the agricultural holdings that are producing, at least partially, for the market. Every holding that

declared apple and/or pear trees (Flemish Region) or pluriannual fruit crops (Walloon Region) in the campaign of 2017 of the Integrated Administration and

Control System or that declared apple or pear trees in the horticultural survey in the Walloon Region to obtain the detail of the orchards areas.
