 For validity and removing mistakes, some data are crosschecked with other institutions and other license owners’ statements such as import and export values compared with Ministry of Customs’ data, inventory levels crosscheck with Depot Operators Statements, total purchases form the refinery compared with the total sales of the refinery and total sales compared with the sum of sales in Provinces.

 Web base data collection has been launched through a software developed specific to this purpose and data entry has been realized by enterprises. First quality checks have been realized by regional offices of TurkStat. Finally; related division in Central Office has been realized quality controls and analysed the data by using cross-checking and statistical techniques like outliers in time series. The data has been cross-checked with foreign trade and short term production statistics and also administrative data of General Directorate of Mining Affairs. Incorrect data has been corrected after negotiations with enterprises, regional offices and responsible official units. Before publishing of data; confidentiality techniques has been applied according to Statistics Law of Turkey.

 Data which obtained from power plants are classified according to the producer, types of plants, types of fuels and so on (cogeneration (CHP) or only electricity power plant, steam turbine, gas turbine, gas engine, combined cycle, internal combustion, single or multi-fired etc.) by using excel file. The methods which have been used for able to correction of data; checking of the efficiency of plants, comparing the outliers with the previous year's data. If it is necessary after the negotiations with power plants, incorrect data have been corrected. Also, our survey includes some cross-check questions.

 Incorrect data has been corrected after negotiations with enterprises. Cross checking techniques: We sent questionnaire different institutions for same data so we can check the data. We are doing this for coal, natural gas and petroleum. We are doing some estimations for other sectors(residential and agriculture) according to some data source.
