14.2. Punctuality

Almost all questionnaires were delivered on time.

14.2.1. Punctuality - delivery and publication

Not available.

15. Coherence and comparability Top
15.1. Comparability - geographical

Not applicable.

15.1.1. Asymmetry for mirror flow statistics - coefficient

Not applicable.

15.2. Comparability - over time

Comparability over time is ensured both among aggregated and disaggregated data.

15.2.1. Length of comparable time series

Times series for annual data are available from 1990 onwards.

15.3. Coherence - cross domain

Statistical outputs are compared with other statistical or administrative data that provide the same or similar information on the same domain, as well as divergences originating from different sources are identified.

15.3.1. Coherence - sub annual and annual statistics

There are not significant discrepancies between sub annual and annual data do not appear. However, annual outputs are often more accurate.

15.3.2. Coherence - National Accounts

Not available.

15.4. Coherence - internal

Internal coherence is ensured both among aggregated and disaggregated data.

16. Cost and Burden Top

Software and communication tools are used in order to optimise the statistical process. In certain occasions (e.g., application for gathering oil data – www.fuelstats.gr) a platform is installed thus providing the respondents with an automated tool. Moreover, taking into account that the statistical outputs are mostly based on census processes, the response burden concerns all data providers, that are obliged to submit their answers, either hard copy or electronically. Total cost and burden,as well as the evaluation of resources’ use are difficult to be calculated.

17. Data revision Top
17.1. Data revision - policy

Data are generally revised in order to incorporate new, improved information. In addition, errors in the computation of statistics are corrected.  In this way data users are supplied with the best possible results.

17.2. Data revision - practice

Whenever data are submitted as provisional, a revision follows as soon as the final data are available. In case one or more data providers submit a revision, values are recalculated and submitted as soon as possible.

17.2.1. Data revision - average size

Not available.

18.3. Data collection

The statistical outputs are based mostly on census processes. All data providers are obliged to submit their answers, either hard copy or electronically.  However, if possible, the use of administrative data is preferred, provided that statistical standards are not affected. Statistical outputs are compared with other statistical or administrative data that provide the same or similar information on the same domain, as well as divergences originating from different sources are identified.

18.4. Data validation

There are procedures to validate the intermediate results and the statistical output, namely recourse to intermediate agencies or pools of independent authorities. At all stages of the statistical process double checks are carried out to reduce any errors.
