A basic obligation of the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT), in accordance with Article 11(6) of the Greek Statistical Law 3832/2010, as amended and in force, is the certification as "official" of the statistics produced by the other Hellenic Statistical System (ELSS) agencies. This certification, (when developing, producing and disseminating statistics, ELSS agencies shall implement the European Statistics Code of Practice as in force) is an important factor and a tool for enhancing the quality and reliability of ELSS statistics. The Hellenic Ministry of Rural Development and Food is under the aforementioned, ongoing certification process of ELSTAT
