Survey on accommodation statistics is not a sample survey, so the estimates do not contain sampling error. The undercoverage error might occur because of the situation that not all units that offer accommodation services are always registered in relevant activity (NACE) in the Business Register of Latvia or might not be registered at all and so might not be included in survey as well as there are respondents who have refused to provide data at all. Also the accommodation establishments which started to operate during the second half of the year are mostly included in the survey starting from the January of next year. Data of capacity of all types of accommodation establishments has a high level of accuracy. The data are verified and anlysed in individual level and in aggregated level. There are very few missing answers and the survey is fully completed by respondents. The imputation of missing data is used when regular respondent has not submitted the data for the actual month - data is then imputed from the same month of previous year (if available) or previous month. |
