Holiday and other short-stay accommodation (NACE 55.2). A new category was added in 2015: 'NACE 55203 = Self-catering cottages, holiday homes and apartments'. The figures for this category are based on a sample selected at provincial level, except for the coast, where figures are provided by real estate agencies. Nace 55.2 includes 8910 units.

Camping grounds, etc. (NACE 55.3): This includes 369 units.

Overall data quality is very good: all the requirements of the Regulation are taken into consideration, data are published relatively rapidly, non response rate is low. From 2014 onwards, XBRL will be used for collecting data.

There are a few changes for 2015 compared to 2014:

• Following the amendment of the Royal Decree of 12 January 2015, the universe is limited to licensed, registered, officially recognised or authorised accommodations from 2015 onward. The respondents who were no longer interviewed in 2015 accounted for 1,908,757 overnight stays in 2014 out of a total of 32,605,681 overnight stays.

• A new category was added in 2015: 'NACE 55203 = Self-catering cottages, holiday homes and apartments'. The figures for this category are based on a sample selected at provincial level, except for the coast, where figures are provided by real estate agencies. This category included 6,165,589 overnight stays in Belgium in 2015.

For these reasons any comparison with the previous years is impossible
