Population Live births Deaths Immigrants Emigrants
Population register Municipalities Municipalities and population register Population register Population register
18.2. Frequency of data collection

For births and deaths: monthly.

For migration: yearly.

18.3. Data collection

We receive individual forms for births and deaths from the municipalities every month and once a year information on births and deaths of residents which occur abroad.

For migration data we receive a file extracted from the Population register once a year.

18.4. Data validation

As for population data validation we contact all the municipalities and ask for feedback.

18.5. Data compilation

Natural events are coded and then entered in specific application. After that we treat the data with SPSS to do coherency checks and publish the results.

For migration data and population stock we receive the data from the Population Register.

18.6. Adjustment

Other reasons: statistical adjustments (registration and deregistration due to reasons different from births, deaths, immigrations and emigrations).
