Table: HSLTYP – Population by sex, age and type of household and household status

Specific remarks:

 

BE: Dimension “type of household and household status”, note provided from Eurostat:

§   Institution for health care and retired or elderly persons have been summed in the category institutions for elderly and retired people

 

FR: Dimension “type of household and household status”, notes provided from the country:

§   Spouse plus cohabitant means members of a couple, the distinction of married or not is not made here

§   Homeless, population in mobile home, “mariner" in French (people who live in a barge on a river without a fixed dwelling, waterman?)

§   A child  is considered as  single person living in a private household with at least one parent (mother or father) but without any child or cohabitant or spouse in the household

§   Institutional households are classified according to their principal purpose or target group
