Training and tutoring of nuclear regulatory authorities sharing EU expertise
The Strategy responds to the global challenges and the need for EU action in the field of nuclear safety, radiation protection and nuclear safeguards. During the period 2014-2020 the activities will focus on the promotion and implementation of the highest nuclear safety and radiation protection standards together with the nuclear regulatory authorities active in third countries. Support will be given to build and develop nuclear safety capacities.  
The INSC MIP for 2014-2017 promotes a high level of nuclear safety, radiation protection, and the application of efficient and effective safeguards of nuclear material in third countries. It has an indicative budget of €120.34 million to fund nuclear safety and safeguards, regional and bilateral cooperation projects with third countries as well as funds for INSC administrative support and support to the work of International Organisations.
