Child sexual abuse

Child sexual abuse

Children and youth in Botswana face the risk of a particularly insidious and destructive type of human rights violation, child sexual abuse (CSA), due to their unique socio-economic, cultural, traditional and developmental circumstances, and their physical and mental immaturity.
The project focused on improving the response to and prevention of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) cases by improving mechanisms, providing quality services and reporting. The project targeted its activities towards the most relevant stakeholders - general public to raise awareness on their rights and responsibilities and on available services; service providers that are responsible for handling CSA cases; traditional leaders, Village Child Protection Committees and policy makers.
