The rights of LGBTI persons are protected under existing international human rights law, although specific action is often required in order to ensure the full enjoyment of human rights by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) persons.
Approval of the Bananas Accompanying Measures for 2012 in favour of Belize. The maximum contribution of the European Union to the measures is set at EUR 13.280.000 to be financed from budget line 21.06.07 of the general budget of the European Union for 2012.
The overall objective of this programme is to foster social and economic development, while preserving the environment, leading to the reduction of poverty, focussing on workers and their families in the banana belt.
The specific objective is to increase the efficiency of banana production, improve economic and social development and strengthen the existing policy and institutional framework.
