Voluntary Partnership Agreement process in Laos and Vietnam

Voluntary Partnership Agreement process in Laos and Vietnam

This project aims to maximise the credibility, legitimacy and effectiveness of the Voluntary Partnership Agreements (VPA) being developed by Laos and Vietnam. Based on the experience of past forest sector reforms in these two countries, and the experience to date of Vietnam’s VPA negotiations, WWF has identified a particular need for capacity building and organisational support for weaker VPA stakeholder groups, in particular forest-dependent communities, civil society organisations (such as NGOs in Vietnam and non-profit associations in Laos), and small and medium forest enterprises.
