The main objective of this project was to support capacity development of the National Media Commission (NMC) for effective media monitoring during 2016 elections.
The main expected results were:
- EC staff capacity to deliver electoral events in the medium term was strengthened;
- The electorate was informed on electoral procedures and processes through voter outreach programmes.
- The main result was to strengthen NMC’s technical capacity to undertake media monitoring activities during the 2016 elections through the following key activities: organise media monitoring activities with regular campaigns; deepen regulatory synergy between NMC and NCA for effective regulation.
