Real Talk Real Action: Preventing and eliminating early marriages, discrimination on inheritance and violence against LGBTI persons as a strategy to attain gender equality in Lesotho

Objectives: The project aimed to contribute to attain gender equality, prevent and eliminate early marriages, discrimination on inheritance of a girl child and violence against LGBTI Persons.

Results: 

  • At least 30% of community members will be informed and sensitised on the causes, magnitudes and attitudes of men towards early marriages;
  • Approximately 30% of reported cases on early marriages, disinheritance and violence against LGBTI persons investigated and 20% of such cases prosecuted.
  • At least 30% of the girls, women living with HIV and LGBTI persons empowered to assert their human rights.
  • Approximately 30% of human rights violation cases reported, legal advice provided and litigation instituted were necessary.
