Preventing child marriage and female genital mutilation in high risk communities in Tanzania to support girls to realise their rights

The project aims at:

  • Raising awareness of girls’ rights and facilitating dialogue on harmful practices, specifically child marriage and FGM.

  • Establishment of 30 girls’ clubs providing life skills education, financial literacy and support for livelihood activities.

  • Promoting adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights with 1,400 girls and 400 boys through 60 peer educators.

  • Capacity building of police gender desk, health workers and community child protection committees.
