Expansion of LPG storage and distribution facilities in Eritrea

Expansion of LPG storage and distribution facilities in Eritrea

The aim of this action was to promote the wider use of LPG for cooking in small urban and rural areas of Eritrea. The shift towards LPG had a significant impact in reducing the domestic chores of women, while bringing about unquestionable environmental benefits in terms of reduced biomass consumption and reduced deforestation. The biggest part of the project was the construction of two new liquid petroleum gas (LPG) spherical tanks and the refurbishment of the old tanks in the port of Massawa.
